Size:
Wingspan is 1 5/8 - 1 7/8 inches.

Similar Species:

Wild Indigo Duskywing
Horace's Duskywing
Juvenal's Duskywing (spring only)

Habitat:
Hot dry places, sand and dirt roads, openings in longleaf pine/scrub oak woods.

Range/Abundance:
Common in the sandhills and uncommon to rare in the mountains, piedmont and coastal plain

Flight Period:
Adults fly from early April until late September in three broods.

Larval Host Plants:
Legumes including Black Locust Robinia pseudacacia

Comments:
Very difficult to tell from Wild Indigo Duskywing, it is much less marked than Wild Indigo Duskywing, but about the same size.
