Similar Species:

Juvenal's Duskywing (spring only)
Zarucco Duskywing
Wild Indigo Duskywing

Habitat:
Open fields, roadsides, gardens, woodland edges and power line clearings.

Range/Abundance:
Common and widespread in the entire region during spring. Uncommon to rare near the coast.

Flight Period:
Adults fly from early April until early October in three broods with gaps between broods.

Larval Host Plants:
Oaks Quercus spp.

Comments:
Horace's Duskywing flies during spring and it is outnumbered by the abundant Juvenal's Duskywing which is nearly impossible to tell which species is which.

After the first brood in the spring Horace's Duskywing is easier to identify as no other Duskywings would be flying that resemble it.
