Habitat:
Wet areas near deciduous woods such as meadows, seeps, swamp edges, power line clearings, weedy fields and streams.

Range/Abundance:
Common to uncommon in the entire region. More common in the northern states.

Flight Period:
Adults fly from late April until late October in two broods with a slight gap between broods.

Larval Host Plants:
Sedges including Chufa Flatsedge Cyperus esculentus and Sun Sedge Carex heliophila

Comments:
This chocolate-colored skipper seems to appear in wet situations more than most other skippers. I have found them perched on leaves sunning themselves right after heavy rains.
