Wingspan is 7/8 - 1 1/8 inches.

Similar Species:

Dusky Roadside-Skipper

Habitat:
Along wooded edges and woodlands, power line clearings, roadsides along hardwoods and dirt roads.

Range/Abundance:
Uncommon in the sandhills and mountains and rare in the coastal plain and piedmont.

Flight Period:
Adults fly from mid March until late September with gaps between three broods.

Larval Host Plants:
Wild Oats Avena, Bent Grass Agrostis, Bluegrass Poa and Bermuda Grass Cynodon dactylon.

Comments:

This tiny skipper is easily overlooked because of its size. The habitat is varied so much it is likely to turn up about anywhere.
