Similar Species:

Clouded Skipper

Habitat:
Damp clearings, open moist areas, power lines and gardens.

Range/Abundance:
A migrant from the south, it can be found in large numbers some years.

Flight Period:
Adults fly from early June until late November The flight peaks from late September until early October.

Larval Host Plants:
Rice Oryza sativa, Rice Cutgrass Leersia oryzoides, Sugarcane Saccharum officinarum, and Trompetilla Grass Hymenachne amplexicaulis

Comments:
These skippers can easily identified by their very long forewing which is longer than any other brown skipper.
