Wingspan is 1 3/8 - 2 inches.
Similar Species:
Falcate Orangetip
Habitat
Partly open scrub oak/pine
areas with exposed shale and shale barrens.
Range/Abundance:
Uncommon at best and hard
to find good weather when it is flying to see it.
Flight Period:
Adults fly from April until the end of May in a single brood.
Larval Host Plants:
Rock cresses Arabis spp.
Comments:
Good weather in April and May is the key to finding the Olympia Marble,
I've yet to get a good window opportunity to drive the seven hours to
go photograph it.
