Tawny-edged Skipper

Habitat:
Usually close to the ground in a variety of locations like power lines, weedy fields, roadsides, gardens and savannas.

Range/Abundance:
Common to uncommon in the coastal plain and uncommon to rare in the piedmont and and mountains.

Flight Period:
Adults fly from mid June until mid November.

Larval Host Plants:
Johnson Grass Sorghum halepense, Bermuda Grass Cynodon dactylon, and Sugarcane Saccharum officinarum

Comments:
This tiny skipper is often overlooked because of its size and close to the ground flight. When it lands, it twitches its wings open twice as if it's nervous.
